The Man Who Owned the Earth’ is being staged by the Eden Performance Team, whose previous programme of shows at Glastonbury Festival last summer and over Christmas and early spring, delighted audiences – both young and old.

“The show isn’t heavy duty, however, it has a lot of humour – as you would imagine from one of the Monty Python team – but it does ask us to think a little more carefully about how we use our resources.”

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Eden Arena at 11am and 2pm,  throughout the summer. There is no additional price for watching the show - it is included in the standard admission prices into Eden.

Something a bit different took place on  October 31 for 4 nights

It is non seated and starts at the Visitor Centre and movers on around the site.

In the Biomes with the main performance in the Warn Temperate Biome consisted of  a theatrical extravaganza with lots of surprises featuring a myriad of bizarre characters, clowning, dance, aerial spectacle, live music and a party.

Passing the car crash to the way down to the biomes - the dead bride in the Malaysian house as you were guided round the HTB (below) dancers and the finale party in the WTB

Not forgetting the huge skeleton that surprised every one or the heap of dead children in the HTB

Pulp Live on stage at Eden 5 July            Six by Seven and Spiritualized 6 July  2002

Review of Pulp
July 8, 2002

Pulp, Friday 5th July 2002
Pulp, Friday 5th July 2002

There can be few more dramatic settings for a series of rock concerts than Cornwall's Eden Project, a benign Bond villain's hideout set in a vast natural amphitheatre, its open-air stage dwarfed by the huge and visually stunning eco-domes.  A joint venture with the global music foundation WOMAD, with all its profits going to help artists in developing countries, the first two of the four Eden Sessions drew 3,000 people to this high tec botanical oasis last Friday and Saturday.  The atmosphere on both nights was sedate but quietly magical, half Glastonbury and half Glyndebourne.

Eccentric Canadian rapper Gonzales played on Friday, his hyperactive one man show falling somewhere between stand up comedy routine and Brechtian cabaret.  With his pink Las Vegas lounge suit and nasal Woody Allen whine, the Berlin based provocateur alternated pre-programmed beats with sardonic rhymes with cheesy Broadway ballads.  The oddest moment came when, towards the finale, he began loudly berating Eden Project staff for losing his stage costume.  At first this seemed like an extension of the performance art joke, but it gradually became apparent that Gonzales, for perhaps the first time in his career, was being serious.

As the sun sank over Tuto, Pulp rounded off Friday's festivities, alternating nature themed songs from their latest album, We Love Life, with crowd-pleasing classics such as Underwear and the inevitable rousing encore of Common People.  There is a reflective maturity to Pulp these days , with less of a lusty swagger, but Jarvis Cocker seduced the audience effortlessly in his typically wry, self-mocking manner.  Performing in brown slacks and bare feet he even used the Eden stage to casually announce his wedding plans for next weekend.  Or was that just another deadpan quip?

"Several hundred enthusiastic, but very wet, fans braved the elements on
Saturday and were rewarded by a memorable performance from Devon acoustic
duo Show of Hands. Steve Knightley and Phil Beer were joined during the
evening by guest musicians including, from Port Isaac, Fisherman's Friends.
The Humid Tropics Biome, the mist and the rain provided a superb backdrop
