18/10/03 'Carla' an Eden Guide is stripping stinging nettle stalks of their outer coverings ready for boiling in potash! Why - to produce fine fibres, which were thought to have been used in this Country way back in time, to make a yarn that could be woven after spinning. The nettle stalks are much like flax and can be treated in the same way.

08/10/03 The move goes on from East to West.  The Partnership tent has gone to make way for the relocated toilet block, again from the East end of Eden, to make way for the new expansion and education building, which is about to start.

30/09/03 This is the first visitors I have seen to bring a ghetto blaster with them to Eden,  will be it playing house wives choice!  You never know who or what you might meet at Eden.

24/09/03 A combinations of cut crops are being combined with willow to create sculpture forms  by  Serena  De La Hay

 

24/09/03 Coffee beans on the point of turning red and ripe. A partly deflated helium balloon called  'Flybot'  sits like a giant silver bean high up on the cliff in the HTB.

24/09/03 The East end now cleared of the display sheds and plants ready for the construction of the new education buildings.  A view from the bulb fields.

17/09/03 Work going on near the tea leaf.  Raking the soil for the great bulb plant, to take place shortly for 'Eden's Spring Bulb Festival'. Friends of Eden can help with the planting.

 

17/09/03 Biome view.  New site for temporary education buildings, (the white area to the left of the tea leaf) as a start will soon be made to get the permanent education buildings erected at the East end of the Eden site.

12/09/03 High up on a ledge in the HTB lurks a helium balloon, still under going trials, it will fly a Webcam around the biome I understand!  could be fun.             Prairie view.

05/09/03 You got to hand it to him 'Bill Woroath' that is, the sculptor of these root hands, to be seen in one of the small garden shed type buildings at the East end of the Eden site.  The leaves to these roots are on the underside of the building. This exhibit is quite eerie.

 

05/09/03 Eden in the Garden Exhibit, that will be open shortly - DNA Double Helix was discovered 50 years ago and this exhibition will celebrate that fact, among other things.
